We didn't opt for the daily breakfast, and I'm glad we didn't. It's fine but not good value. Plenty of great cafes in Vienna that are more worth your time.

We came to Vienna for the city and the Christmas markets, and we chose the Leo Grand for its central location. The hotel is in the center, which in Vienna means you're five minutes from one Christmas market, three from another, and seven from a third where they sell exactly the same glühwein as the other two... and honestly, we loved it.
Check-in/out was quick and efficient. No queues, no forms that require your blood type, no one disappearing mysteriously for ten minutes... smooth, no surprises on the bill, no drama.
The room : Warm, cozy, clean, immediately inviting. Sloped attic windows gave it charm. The view was essentially nothing, but the charm made up for it. We slept well.
Breakfast. No buffet. We're a buffet people but we came prepared for that emotional shock. Then came the truly disturbing bit… and you may want to sit properly for this… no cake. No tart. Nothing. In Vienna. The city that produced the sachertorte and pipes apfelstrudel directly into homes... what? thirty years in hotels. I've seen floods, fires, a guy try to check in with a goat. But no cake at breakfast? That's the thing that broke me.
Staff: Whenever we needed something, we got it. Requests were handled, problems were solved, and everyone we interacted with directly was friendly and willing to help. You know how statistically unlikely that is? In any group, there's always one person having a bad day. Where were they hiding that person?
Would we go back? Yes. The room was good, the location was excellent, and the overall experience worked. But next time, we're bringing our own apfelstrudel. I don't trust anyone anymore.

Disappointing
The Leo Grand is the seventh hotel in this price range that I’ve stayed at in Vienna over the past year, and I am very disappointed. Cleanliness, design, and quality were not the issue—the rooms are nice and clean. I would even highlight the breakfast, which was fantastic.
The problem, however, was the approach to customer service. Waiting at the reception felt like waiting in line at a doctor’s office. The lobby was full, no one greeted us, no one offered us water, nothing. There were two receptionists rotating, but one always had to wait for the other to return because they each had to personally show guests to their rooms, which made the whole process extremely slow.
The biggest issue, though, was that we chose this hotel from a wide range of options specifically because it offered rooms with a bathtub. We paid for that room, yet we received a room with a shower. When we went downstairs to inquire about the issue, we had to wait another 25 minutes before it was our turn again.
The receptionist told us that within the room category we purchased, some rooms have a bathtub and some have a shower, and all the bathtub rooms were already taken. He offered to send some pastries and a bottle of wine to our room. I replied that this wouldn’t save our experience, especially since we had planned a romantic evening with the bathtub. He then said he could give us complimentary breakfast, but since we had already prepaid it, that was no longer possible. I said fine, then at least send the wine and pastries to the room—however, this is not sufficient compensation, and we would write about our experience in a Google review. Guess what? They didnt deliver anything to our room. My partner wrote the review that evening.
The next morning at check-out, a new receptionist approached us because of the review. She blamed us and essentially told us it was our fault because we should have booked earlier and called the hotel to make sure we would get exactly the room shown on Booking.
