Built in 1913, Steigenberger Hotel Herrenhof is located in the center of the first district of Vienna, only a few steps from the Hofburg Imperial Palace. Free WiFi is available. I would love to stay in this hotel again when visiting Vienna. Everything was great - the room, the service and the location of the hotel, the spa was also good and enjoyed the hotel bar.

The location is great and staff is friendly
Not the level of service you would expect from a 5 star hotel. When we came into the room there were no slippers available and had to go down to ask for them. No information was given to us regarding how to contact reception, or how to use any of the amenities. Also really unusual design : bathroom door was on the wall facing the bed (that's ok) but was transparent, which means both people would wake up if someone put it on during the night.

Breakfast was wonderful, the room was an adequate size, clean and the bed and sheets were quite comfortable. The bathroom was nice but the shower was a bit difficult to navigate.
We couldn't get the heat turned down, so it was quite warm, when I mentioned it to the man at the desk deflected and said "you should have told someone sooner." I think he could use some help learning how to respond to things in a positive manner as opposed to deflecting blame on the customer. But overall, the rest of the staff was wonderful and my daughter and I had a wonderful stay.

Location was amazing, close to all the sites, CBD and food.
The twin or extra large bed was 2 single beds pushed together and would move apart during the night.

Super location. Close to the Palace and nice restaurants.
Amenity goods. No shower cap, no razor in the bathroom. We maybe had to ask at the reception but expected to have those in the room.

Very pretty room, very quiet and comfortable
Had requested twin bed configuration on the booking but this was not available at check in. Fair enough, the hotel has said it would do its best to accomodate but that it may not be possible. Ok.

Small point - No shelf In Bathroom to put toothbrush etc No small mirror conveniently placed for makeup or to use hair dryer (only in bathroom) but again no space to lay items down or sit at leisure whilst doing hair/makeup
