Hotel Altstadt Vienna might have been the best hotel we stayed at, and we travel a lot. It is very unique, filled with art and beautiful touches throughout. Our room and bathroom were a nice size for two, nice design, very comfortable bed and no noise from neighboring rooms. The breakfast was fresh and outstanding, the salon for breakfast or afternoon tea/ bar and drinks very inviting and masterfully designed, makes you really feel at home. The staff is super friendly and gave good advise on Christmas markets that are a bit off the beaten path or the main ones. Spittelberg is just minutes away and was new to us, as well as the suggested market at Karlsplatz - both with different vibes and excellent experiences. The neighborhood close to the museums is very pleasant and filled with countless restaurants - a great alternative to Innere Stadt. We come to Vienna on regular basis and certainly would love to stay here again.

Each staff member was exceptional! They were friendly and very accommodating. They went out of their way to make their guests feel special. I felt their positive attitude was infectious! Great management and staff!
Our original room was classified as a medium size deluxe room, however when we arrived it was a very small room. The shower was too small for a medium sized person, That said, they found us an upgraded larger room that we managed perfectly for our 5 night stay. However, we did pay an charge which fortunately no issue.

Incredibly unique with comfortable beds and art all around. Breakfast is amazing. And location is in a charming area with a much more local feeling.
I stayed in a suite and it was fab. My husband and son stayed in a double room and found the room to be a bit small and bathroom a bit uncomfortable as for example the tub was too high.

We had a truly nice stay at this hotel. Location was amazing, this neighborhood is where you will end up having all your good meals, coffee, shopping etc but then also very close walk to true city center, museums. Staff was very professional, breakfast is indulgent, afternoon tea was serene The rooms are very special and well-cared for, it felt like a truly unique boutique hotel experience. I am an insanely light sleeper and did end up relocating to a top floor room to avoid upstairs neighbors, as it's an old building with creaking bones, which led to having a huge suite at a high cost BUT this was clear and known to me, so it worked out well in the end.

This place was very special to us. It was a feel like home experience. Colorful decoration, the saloon with piano play on Saturday, tea time every afternoon and super friendly caring staff. And a new day could not start with a more enjoyable breakfast ! A safe and outstanding place to be. For a next return to Vienna we will choose this hotel again for sure.
