Located in a renovated historic building in the popular Spittelberg quarter, this elegant 4-star boutique hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the Museum Quarter. It offers free WiFi and air-conditioned rooms. All rooms at the Altstadt Vienna are individually decorated and equipped with classic or modern furniture. They feature cable TV, parquet floors, and a mini-bar. A varied breakfast buffet is served in the Red Salon. Our apartment was spacious, nicely furnished and designed, very comfortable for a stay of a few days. The hotel staff is great, dedicated, from the reception to the restaurant. Special praise for the helpful Lenzo (restaurant) and the super friendly Milena (reception). We came with a dog, who was welcomed everywhere.
The hotel is located in a large building that is in not so great condition. It doesn’t really give the impression of being in a hotel, as it only occupies a few floors of the building. The location is convenient for walking, but the hotel itself is situated at the intersection of very noisy streets.

My room was very large. Breakfast was a delicious spread every day and the servers were very good. We really liked the neighbourhood. Loved the art work throughout the hotel.
The bed was not super comfortable.

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Very homely and personal. So different from the normal run of the mill hotels. The room was beautifully decorated with a large ensuite. Great selection for breakfast and free afternoon tea and cake provided which was most welcome after walking all day. Location is very close to all the main attractions.
I believe from the website that some of the rooms have bathrooms with no doors and glass windows with curtains. This would not have suited us.

Great hotel overall, really beautiful design and cool rooms. The staff was exceptionally kind and welcoming - I really appreciated all the recommendations and allowing me to shower before my flight (even after checkout). Breakfast was lovely, good selection and appreciated the warm choice of eggs and delicious coffee. The neighbourhood is super cool, quiet but also lots of bars, cafes and antique stores and it's 15-20 minute walk to the city center. I really appreciated having such good quality yoga mat in the room - doing some stretching after a long flight was very much appreciated.
Wifi in the room was quite slow, which was a bit of an issue for me, as I had to work. Bed was really not comfortable unfortunately.

Around 10 to 15 walks to the old town attractions but it is a lot quieter and homy feel.

Wonderful
Incredibly unique with comfortable beds and art all around. Breakfast is amazing. And location is in a charming area with a much more local feeling.
I stayed in a suite and it was fab. My husband and son stayed in a double room and found the room to be a bit small and bathroom a bit uncomfortable as for example the tub was too high.

Great staff and service. The Salon truely deserved it's name and is a wonderful space to retreat to. On weekends there might even be live piano music. The food was exceptional and the location so close to the Museumsquartier and next to Spittelberg invites for strolls through the city center.

These suites are very spacious and individually furnished. the bösendorfer suite comes with an original grand piano, and the felix suite designed by matteo thun featuring a free-standing bathtub. moreover there are two apartment-suites, which are equipped with a kitchenette and a separate living room. all suites have parquet floors and high ceilings, city or courtyard views, design bluetooth speakers and a coffee machine. the design bathroom has both a shower and a bath. if booked for 3 people, the third person sleeps on a high-quality sofa bed or roll-away bed.
