I have stayed here often, and I am always pleased with the amenities, breakfast selection, location, kind staff, very consistent.
My single room was very small. The bathroom sink area was too small to offer any space for my toiletries.

Very good location. Close to Stephensplatz. Opera and other social sites were very walkable.
Bathroom was out of date. Not very functional by today’s standards. Difficult to get in and out of shower/tub.

The location is great near city center within walking distances to many attractions, high end stores and restaurants. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Cleaning lady did a great job even folded my clothes laying on bed. Breakfast buffet was really good.
Even though my 100 sqft room with a single bed is tiny and smaller than I expected, it is not a huge concern since I travelled solo and stayed only 2 nights. But there were young people every night somewhere nearby on the streets I guess drinking, yelling, making so much noise well into 2-3am. It was really disturbing and frustrating!

Wonderful
It feels very luxurious, with two automatic folding doors when you first enter, which gives a very nice feeling. The room was very clean, and the supplies included separate body wash and conditioner - as well as all other things one expects in this price class.
The elevator is really small. Personally i did not have any large luggage, but that might already be a problem for 2 persons with 2 trolley bags. The very obvious thing: Downtown in the first district can get very loud, that's just the way it is. While the windows do good job, you should really bring earplugs.

Hotel Wandl exceeded our expectations! We stayed there July 11-15, 2025. Starting with the front desk staff-everybody was wonderful, warm and inviting. We had questions which they very enthusiastically answered and took their time to explain some of the areas/directions that we needed answered. Our first night we realized our air conditioning wasn’t working as good as it should and the next day I mentioned it to the front desk clerk, and when when we returned from our outings that day, everything was working perfectly. The rooms are not the largest…but they are more than adequate with a very comfortable (king) bed and pillows. Our shower was great and had excellent water pressure. The breakfasts were delicious and had a lot to offer. They always had scrambled eggs and sausages as well as a wide variety of cut meats and cheeses, tomatoes, cereals, yogurts, fresh fruits, a large selection of different bread/rolls/croissants and sweet treats. Also offered an array of juices and had an excellent coffee machine where I had my cappuccino every morning. You could not ask for a better location!! It is located directly behind Saint Peter‘s Cathedral in the heart of the Inner Stadt district. It was just mere steps to Saint Stephen’s Cathedral, restaurants, and shops. When we researched what area to stay…this was the premier district to stay in as it’s close to everything. We either walked where we needed to go or took an Uber. We never had to wait more than just one to five minutes for an Uber to arrive. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and if we ever visit beautiful Vienna again…we would only stay at hotel Wandl! You will not be disappointed.

I was in a room with a single bed. I recognize that space is a premium, but the design of the shower and sink (wash basin) was bad. I found it challenging to maneuver.
