My wife & I loved this hotel. It had charm, the room we had was wonderful & exceptionally clean. The buffet breakfast was unbelievable.

Experienced, helpful and friendly staff. They set an excellent tone in the hotel, generally.
Plenty of space to move around.
We had a boat to catch early one morning and we were on the last moment. We were not allowed to take away a croissant each!

Great location, near the action but it in the action. Fun to be in a historic hotel, comfortable bedding.
A few misses with customer service/reception but overall they delivered. They never replenished toilet paper or provided extra rolls which seemed super odd, and a sign of an undertrained staff.

We had some issues with the double bed on the first night. But very well attended the next morning by Mary the house keeping head , also her assistant Geeta . Sonia at the reception was very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was very good with each item labelled.

Good sized room. Excellent and varied choice for breakfast.
Staff generally were pleasant. However, the concierge who you expect to be very sociable was a bit offhand and arrogant. We had spent a significant amount of money to stay at this hotel but during the checkout process the concierge didn't even have the normal courtesy to ask us if we had enjoyed our stay.

Hotel Stefanie has a rich and interesting history. You can actually feel a bit "of the time" while staying there, starting with the actual PHYSICAL room key (haven't seen one of those in a while, right?), which you hand to the front desk each time you leave and get back when you return. The bathroom was nicely spacious. We were able to do laundry in the tub! The location is ideal and walkable.
There were few outlets, making it tricky to plug in the included water kettle, which was sitting on the windowsill, with no nearby place in which to plug it. My partner opened some windows in the bathroom to let some air in, and we had to contend with a couple of bees that had flown in due to the lack of screens (be aware...). The breakfast buffet was just okay and the staff seemed a bit frazzled.
