Hotel Stefanie is a beautiful, elegant hotel just across the canal from District 1 (inner circle). The metro station is only about 10 mins walk away, but you're in the heart of town. The restaurant has some great, Austrian dishes. The staff are extremely friendly, efficient and friendly - even gently correcting my attempts at speaking basic German ! For the time of year it was cosy and quiet.
Everything was perfect. Bed was very comfortable - having been seeing the sights for most of the day, got a superb night's sleep eveyy night.

We liked that it was nice proximity to the old quarter but not in the middle of it. The staff were all very courteous as well.
The room was a bit dated, we didn’t like that there were 2 small comforters rather than one large one on the king bed, it made snuggling up awkward! Also, the breakfast buffet left much to be desired. It was fine but nothing compared to the ones at places we usually stay and underwhelming for such a nice hotel.

The breakfast buffet was very good! The room was clean and well decorated. The TV had several English channels, which we appreciated.
The location was a bit far from bus stations or the metro. My companion was a senior, so it was harder for him to walk long distances.
