Vienna's oldest hotel is located directly in the city center, only 164 feet away from Saint Stephen's Cathedral and in the immediate vicinity of many other sights. Founded in 1746, Hotel König von Ungarn (King of Hungary) first served as the guest house of the archbishop and is especially popular with cultural travelers and lovers of opera, concerts and theater. The name was inspired by the Hungarian nobility, who used to stay here in the times of the empire. In the adjacent Mozart House, Mozart composed “The Marriage of Figaro”. Hotel König von Ungarn is mentioned in books by Sándor Márai and Julio Cortázar, among others.

we liked everything, the polit staff attitude, the very friendly and comfort room, excellent breakfast, top management guidance, quite and enjoyable patio to have a coffee with strudel cake, excellent central location, amongst other options the Konig of Ungarn proved that it was the right and best choice to stay

Some front desk staff was excellent at providing recommendations and travel info, etc. others, not as much. Received some confusing and incorrect information and didn’t seem to know the neighborhood at all. Dry nice hotel

The place has a shabby-chic style that may look cute at first, but cleanliness is lacking in less obvious areas, such as behind the headboard. At times, I was even concerned about the possibility of bed bugs. Additionally, the room did not provide complimentary sealed water bottles. For travelers aged 50+, the bathroom design poses a safety risk, particularly when stepping in and out of the bathtub. In short, I would not choose to book this property again.

The "old world charm" was refreshing. The room was exquisite, lhigh ceilings and large, which is hard to come by in Europe. The staff was extremely accommodating. The best location, close to all and pubic transport. The breakfast was superb, with a great variety. We will be coming back to Vienna and to this hotel.

Location is unbeatable, for sure. Wall to wall with Mozart' museum, 2 minutes walk to Stephanplatz. Bed is nice, mattress is good and bathroom is huge size. Recommend
