The hotel is very good overall, and the people at the front desk are very friendly. Unfortunately, the service from the breakfast area staff was terrible. They were rude when asking us to change tables, refused to serve us while we were still within breakfast hours, and were extremely disrespectful. It was a disaster — we have stayed in many hotels and have never experienced anything like this. The rest of the hotel is excellent, but they either need to change the breakfast staff or improve their training significantly to deliver even a minimum standard of service.

This is a classical hotel from an almost bygone era, with very friendly staff and a great location in the city centre.
The rooms are somewhat small but very nicely furnished and decorated. All in very good state of maintenance.
This place is well managed, clearly.
Also old fashioned was the manager in the breakfast room. Breakfast is from early to 10.30, so he decided to already close the doors considerably before closing time. Also, after ten nothing of the food was replenished so better make sure to be on time in the morning!
After having observed this for several mornings I was bold enough to speak to him about this...
Ai, ai ai that was not a good idea.
Suffice to say that his manager promised to take it up with the guy. So it should improve.

Very classic Viennese hotel yet only 80 rooms. Great staff. Front desk efficient and helpful. Bar tender uniquely talented and oh so interesting, conversational. Breakfast buffet is large and varied. I cannot think of any food that was not there. 7am-11am breakfast accommodates all schedules. Location is 2 blocks from Karlsplatz Ubahn station. 3 blocks from Opera. Quiet street. Quiet hotel. Room was large. Spacious. Enough plugs. Coffee machine. Mini bar refrigerator new TV AC worked. Operable windows. Solid WiFi and cell signals. Modern plumbing. Large bathroom. Enough lights to read a book at night which is unusual.
Wall mount hairdryer didn’t really work. Two, smallish elevators for 6 floors. Big wide staircase is a good alternative

Kaiserhof is a real gem, set very close to the center of Vienna yet utterly calm. The interior is a kind of updated Austro-Hungarian Empire, elegant and comfortable. Breakfast is classic Central European and the service is very good.

The staff were so helpful and friendly. Everything runs seamlessly. We loved having access to the spa, and the bar was a great addition. Our room was pleasant, very clean and comfortable.
