Located on the banks of the Salzach River, in the center of Salzburg, the Hotel Stein has a history dating back to medieval times and was fully renovated and reopened in the spring of 2018. The lifestyle and design hotel offers guests a panoramic rooftop terrace with views over the rooftops and the surroundings. Rooms at the Hotel Stein show a mixture of modern and classical style, with Austrian and Venetian influences. The luxurious rooms all have air conditioning, a unique furnishing and handcrafted glass decorations or lamps. The bathrooms are equipped with natural beauty products made from herbal ingredients in pharmacy quality. The restaurant Steinterrasse is located on the 7th floor and offers a view of the old town of Salzburg. Guests can enjoy a breakfast, brunch or fine dining on the rooftop terrace, and enjoy exquisite drinks and dishes. Hotel Stein's own spa area can be used against a surcharge and features a relaxation area, sauna and gym. Guides are provided in the rooms with running, hiking and Nordic walking routes. Only 230 feet from the property, the well known Linzergasse starts, where a variety of shops can be found. Cultural landmarks like Mozart's Birthplace, Salzburg Cathedral, the Mirabell Garden and Hohensalzburg Fortress are all within short walking distance to Hotel Stein.

Lovely location by the river in easy walking distance to everything . Really comfy beds (best sleep I’ve had in ages!). Don’t miss the fabulous roof top bar with views.

Great location. Beds are comfortable. Not THAT noisy.
1 - There is no parking. Please remove it from "facilities" list. Reception sent us to outside city parking with max heigh 1.85m, whilst they have seen our car, and it 100% will not fit. 2 - "Adults only" means above 16. Therefore hotel is full of drunk teens trying to get to the rooftop bar. 3 - There are 2 elevators only which you share with drunk teens, therefore you need to stand in huge line to get to the lift. 4 - our "Welcoming" reception staff was not really welcoming. The person was standing outside, smoking, looking at how we are getting our things from the car. DID NOT PROPOSE ANY HELP. However, after check in, when luggage should take short trip from reception-lift-room, he was more than keen to help.

This was an excellent hotel! great air conditioning, lovely staff, welcoming lobby and room. My husband is about 6'4" so the room ceilings felt a bit short for him but otherwise the room was exceptional!

This hotel exceeded my expectations. I would like to comment how pleased I was with the service provided by the staff at this wonderful hotel! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. This hotel is conveniently located for all the main tourist attractions of Salzburg. And the best part is the beautiful view of the old town, including Festung Hohensalzburg, from the hotel window! (The night view is even more special.) I want to stay at this hotel for our next trip to Salzburg.

Great location by the river and on the opposite bank to the old town (few minutes walk) Welcoming staff, nothing too much trouble. Room was clean and quiet, didn’t have coffee/tea making facilities but a kettle was provided on request. Free water and cold drinks in room was a nice touch.

No parking had to park Fay away like 10 mins walking , It’s a deluxe room and shouldn’t be called a suite ! That my personal opinion. Roof top restaurant is good :)
