Room: I like the spacious room and it was clean. it didn't have that pungent smell. the halls were quiet and neat.
Food: breakfast had a wide variety to choose from. It was a bit chaotic during the breakfast as there were a lot of guests during Eid but the staff pulled it off with great patience and accommodating requests from the guests.
I was just not impressed with the beach as it did not have the natural waves you see in a normal beach. of course it is a man made island so you don't get to have the refreshing sea movements.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Shangri-La Hotel and would like to give special recognition to the reception team, especially Sur and Makul, for their exceptional hospitality and warm service throughout our visit. ?????
We were pleasantly surprised and very grateful for the complimentary upgrade from Traders Hotel to the Shangri-La Residence. The upgrade made our stay even more comfortable and memorable.
The breakfast was excellent with a great variety of delicious food, and the ambience of the hotel was calm, elegant, and relaxing. Every detail made us feel welcomed and valued as guests.
Thank you to the entire team for making our stay such a lovely experience. We highly recommend this hotel and look forward to coming back again soon!

The staff are wonderful. Very friendly and helpful.
We booked the club lounge. There was no lounge as it was closed. We were only offered two hours of a make shift lounge of very poor quality. We decided to go for the pool happy hour they were advertising. When we got there the bar was closed and no staff. We asked the lifeguard if someone could come. It took 30 min for someone to arrive. Nothing was available outside. So things had to be brought from inside. In the room the tv would not switch on, the phone did not work and the charging section never worked. There seemed to be an electric issue on that side of the room. Overall a very underwhelming experience. The only good thing were the staff who when they were with us, were friendly.

What I liked about the property was the beautiful sea view from our room. It was very relaxing and definitely the highlight of our stay.
What I didn’t like was the smell of the carpet and the bed pillows, which smelled like old clothes. Also, after 12 midnight, nobody was answering the operator calls anymore.
It was also my husband’s birthday, and I made an inquiry about the BBQ night. It would have been better if the staff had informed us right away that there was no BBQ night available, so we could have planned another dinner option earlier. Instead, we ended up going somewhere else to eat.

Everything was according to the expectation for the value paid for.
At the time of check in 1 drunk guest mis-behaved with me directly at reception and the receiptionist intervened and the customer went on threatning. that was kind of bad impression we got people holding drink in hand shall not be roaming around to mis-behave with other guests

Breakfast, staff friendliness, cleanliness of facilities. Management in the restaurant corrected an error from the wait staff quickly and apologized for the oversight.
A la carte dinner. A buffet would offer better varieties I believe as it used to be that way before, not sure why the change.
